Something Old, Something New
Old Face, New Name
by Michelle Singleton
Time flies when you’re having fun. I can’t believe that this will be my 6th year at Bennet Elementary. That means the 2006-2007 6th graders were in 1st grade. They have really grown and changed over the years. I too have made some changes over the years. The most recent is the name change.
On February 4, 2006, I married Tony Singleton. We had a very festive wedding with a Red, Husker Theme. Tony is a computer programmer. This comes in very handy when I need projects done. He is also a HUGE Husker fan. We enjoy going to sporting events together, especially baseball and football. We both like to participate in Fantasy Football, too. We also like to watch NASCAR and movies. If there isn’t anything on TV and we’re bored, we’ll play games.
We have two pets. We have a 3 year-old German Shepard named Tango. He seems to be on the go all the time. He has the run of the backyard and even gets the neighbors to throw his ball for him. He also takes me for walks. Ariel is a 9 year-old grey Tabby and she has run of the house.
We are lucky that most of our family is close. We have 14 nieces and nephews and 4 great nieces and nephews. Their ages range from 1 year to 24 years. They all keep us busy and on our toes.
I enjoy teaching at Bennet and look forward to actually providing the instruction for one of the 4th classes this year. I always knew when I was in school at Waverly that I would end up being a teacher. I have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary and Special Education from Peru State College and a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Doane College.
I enjoy taking pictures and have included several in my slide show.
I’m
looking forward to a great school year!
