On The Move To Preschool
by Jean Cheney
Hello! My name is Jean Cheney and I've been teaching since 1982. Twenty-one of my twenty-four years in education were spent happily teaching second grade. Last spring I packed that part of my career into boxes and embarked on a new path.
The district pursued and was awarded a State Department of Education grant to expand the educational opportunities for our three and four year olds with the addition of a preschool. I am excited to be taking on the challenge of "creating a preschool" as we work this fall semester toward beginning to serve students in January, 2008.
I look forward to meeting many new families and sharing progress updates on the district web site with you as we move toward our January start date. Please call me at the elementary school if you have a preschool child and you'd like more information. I would love to visit with you!

| 11/13/2007 | Mrs. Cheney gave an update on the preschool progress at the Nov. school board meeting. It is safe to say that the right person was put in charge and without her enthusiasm and efforts, this project would not be possible. Thanks for all your hard work! |
