Palmyra Junior High Volleyball Opens Season

The Palmyra Junior High volleyball opened season on Monday, September 10th against Syracuse at home. The junior high has eighteen girls out this year. Participating for the eighth grade are: Kelby Phillips, Ciera Dowding, Lauryn Gilkison, Raquel Lawhorne, Kendra Haight, Casey Sims, Brittany Jones, Emily Hicks, and Holly Hanau. Participating for the seventh grade are: Ashley Weatherhogg, Taylen Cameron, Kelsey Haight, Jordan Montz, Karey Newton, Stephanie Vaughn, Brett Christian, Candace Chapp, and Jamy Hall.
Both teams ran into a tough Syracuse opponent. The 7th grade lost in two sets. The first set they dropped 2-25 and the second set by the score of 10-25. The 8th grade also lost in two sets by the scores of 14-25 and 18-25. The Junior High girls are next in action on Tuesday, September 25th when they take on Louisville at home starting at 4:30 p.m. The Junior High girls are coached by Mike Sybrant and Kim Jensen.
