P is for Popcorn
by Gail Prokop
During our study of letter P our Kindergarten class read the Popcorn Dragon by Jane Thayer. Dexter the dragon accidently discovers he can pop corn in the field with his hot breath. We thought that sounded like a good snack for our snack time. We all promised to taste every flavor if Mrs. Prokop would get some for us to try.
We tried plain, cheese and caramel popcorn. Most of us ate them all but had to decide which one we liked the very best.
Next we colored our paper kernel the color of our favorite flavor and put it up on the chart The caramel flavor was the big winner. Our lesson for the day is that our class has one big sweet tooth!
