Hopsalot Visits the Second Grade
Mrs. Schauer & Ms. Bogen
Second graders had a special visitor. Mr. Majors brought his rabbit Hopsalot as part our study of pets and how to care for them. Hopsalot is a Netherland Dwarf about 10 weeks old. She is Broken Black in color and has a sibling the same color. She will only weigh between 2 and 2 ½ pounds when she is an adult. Mr.. Majors has about 50 rabbits. In addition to raising them, he also shows them at rabbit competitions. Mr. Majors is often called upon to judge at area rabbit shows as well. Students enjoyed holding Hopsalot and seeing some of the tools used for her care. Of particular interest was the clamp that makes a permanent “tattoo” in the the rabbit's ear for the purpose of identification.
Thank you Mr. Majors!
Enjoy our slide show.
