Rain Forest Reports

Rain Forest Reports

by Doralee Bell

The third grade class has been busy writing reports for one of their state writing assessments. Each student had to choose a rain forest animal to do a report on. They spent time searching the internet and using books from the library to gather information for their writing. They were required to write about the animals habits, habitat, and special features. They learned how to use leads for their stories and how to write special endings.

Writing for State Standards

The report had to be three paragraphs long and fill up a whole page. They enjoyed going through all the material and picking out the most important facts. They also had to be sure and follow the six traits of writing. When they are finished with the writing part, they will be required to do an oral report from their paper.
