Mrs. Schauer and Second Grade
Let's get acquainted!
My husband Bill and I live in Bennet. Bill is a retired nurse and is now our domestic engineer. Son Aaron is a sophomore at Palmyra and enjoys all sports and high school activities. He is an avid video gamer and works at Mamasitas. Son Adam is a third grader at Bennet and loves being outdoors hunting and fishing, and also likes sports - wrestling, football, and baseball. My "spare" time is spent being a "Sports Mom." I enjoy music and like to sew and do crafts. Our family enjoys traveling. This summer we had fun in Kansas City Worlds and Oceans of Fun, and a KC Royals game. I was even brave enough to ride the roller coasters, including the ones that went upside down!
When I look at my classroom of children I am reminded of when I was in second grade. That was the year I sang "All I Want for Christmas is my Two Front Teeth" and my school picture shows the "window" in my mouth. What a wonderful age this is!
As my students enter my classroom every day it is hard for me to believe that I have been a teacher for 31 years. This year begins my 13th year in the Second Grade classroom at Bennet Elementary. I have been part of the Bennet Elementary staff for 27 years. My first 14 years with the school were spent in the Elementary Music classroom. It is such fun to now have children in my classroom whose parents were my music students years ago.
Second grade is a wonderful age. We are toothless grins, Spelling Bee champs, Mad Minute Kids, Budding Readers, Super Scientists, and Patriotic Citizens. Stop in for a visit!
