It's about the home...

And PREPOSITIONS, too.

Spanish II students have been exploring the homes of Spanish-speaking countries, furniture vocabulary, comparisons and superlatives, as well as a review of prepositions.  It's really never-ending, but so fun to increase our vocabulary.  Students have struggled to try to say what is on their mind, and finally they seem to see the light.

We have explored different housing around the world, but also MTV's Cribs and all the furnishings you can imagine.  We have described rooms and furnishings and even found Waldo hiding everywhere.  We can compare what is better, older, more formal, etc.  We have written descriptions, guessing at what furniture is being described, as well as having described and drawn what people have described to a partner.

As we wrap up the chapter we are discussing colors and as we relate cultural themes to colors.  For this we have created flags to represent some of the class, activities, and sports they participate in.  With this they explained their chose of colors, symbols, and and personal preference.  Some examples are attached below.  Perhaps you can guess what they participate in yourself and maybe their choice of color palate.

Stay tuned for the end of the chapter House Project!
