The Preschool Visits Roca Berry Farm
When the preschool students were ask how many pumpkins they thought we might see on our field trip to the Roca Berry Farm the answers ranged from 8 to 210. The thousands of pumpkins we did see were a pretty amazing sight to the adults and children alike! What a wonderful destination for a beautiful fall day!
We rode the hayrack on a long winding ride through corn and pumpkin fields. Once at the field, the children were given a sack and could go in search of just the right pumpkin to take home with them, the only rule was it had to fit in the sack. With our loaded sacks in tow we headed back to the farmstead where many more exciting things were waiting for us to explore.
A trike-racing track, large hay bale climbing areas, a castle with a very long tube slide, an animal area with a large variety of farm animals to pet and see, barns and buildings with wonderful characters and seasonal displays, and so much more quickly filled our remaining time.
Many of our children had never ridden on a school bus before this trip, so that was a very exciting part of our day also. We had a large turnout of parents and grandparents along to help with supervision and share our fun day with us. We want to thank those family members; it would have been difficult to keep track of all our preschoolers without the extra eyes and ears. You may have found Mrs. Cheney and Mrs. Poe under a pumpkin vine somewhere without all the great parental help!
