Students have been discussing the home, it's contents, and cultural differences in living spaces. With his chapter came the review of prepositions, new furniture vocabulary, chores, giving commands to a friend, the verbs "to sleep" and "to be able", and let me not forget comparisons/superlatives. What a full chapter!
To wrap up and assess their skills, students were asked to create a "for sale ad" selling the dream home they designed. Homes but be created the old-fashion way (poster board, shoe boxes, etc.) or they could use PowerPoint, Sims or various websites that support home design. Their speaking side of the project is to sell their home to me as a real estate agent. Once all projects are completed, higher-level students and all Spanish II students will vote for the best project and ad. Winning student from each class is excused from the test with a 100%. Projects can be seen below as they are completed.
