Character Counts Opening Ceremony

Like Olympians walking in the parade of athletes, Bennet Elementary students followed Mr. Robb into the gym on Wednesday afternoon as he carried the flag for the Character Counts Opening Ceremony. This year’s theme is “Training for Character.” At the gathering, students were reminded that they should work hard every day to become kids of character.

Teachers and staff are committed to being the training TEAM. Throughout the year, they will Teach, Enforce, Advocate, and Model character as well as recognize exemplary character demonstrated by students.

Each month a different Pillar of Character will be emphasized, and students will be asked to wear the color representing that pillar on designated days (near the 1st and 15th of each month). The six colors are displayed as Olympic rings in the school entryway. There students and parents are reminded that each and every day students at Bennet Elementary are “Training for Character.”
