Students Help Out By Recycling
Every Tuesday at Palmyra High School, a group of advisory students is responsible for taking out the recycling. Each teacher has at least one recycling box in their classroom for materials such as plastic, paper, newspaper, and cardboard. There are also various recycling boxes in the hallways and cafeteria. The recycling totes and dumpster are located on the west side of the school building.
When students take out the recycling they are responsible for sorting the materials into the appropriate containers. There is a dumpster for cardboard, and several large totes for plastic, newspaper, mixed paper, and cans. Every Wednesday the recycling is picked up by Recycling Enterprises from Lincoln.
Jim Kerl, the day time custodian, is a very big help with recycling. He monitors the hallway and cafeteria recycling during the week.
