BAND News– We’re going to NMEA!

It all started last spring when Mrs. Murphy-Robb recorded the band and submitted the recording to the Nebraska Music Educators Association. Each November, a select few music groups get the opportunity to perform at the NMEA convention, held each November. A select few – usually class A, or collegiate groups, get chosen to perform, based on the recordings that are submitted in the spring. Mrs. Murphy-Robb knew our group was something special – so she sent in the recording. Low and behold – our Palmyra Panther Band was chosen to play! This is the highest honor a band or choir can receive in our state - to play to an audience of band and choir directors, plus the all-state band and choir members from across the state!

If you have the chance – come hear the Panther Band play at Kimball hall, next to the Lied center on UNL campus, at 11:00 am Friday November 21st. The students and Mrs. Murphy-Robb are honored to represent Palmyra & District OR-1. They’d love to have your support!

We'd also like to congratulate Carly Poskochil on being selected to play tenor saxophone in the all state band! Way to go Carly!!!
