Palmyra Spanish Students Visit 39th Annual Foreign Language Fair

Story image 1_0

Once again, Spanish students at all levels had the opportunity to attend and participate in UNL's 39th annual foreign language fair on April 16th.  This year over 1300 students and sponsors attended a jam packed day.  The UNL fair is a yearly event for Nebraska high school students to showcase their skills in Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Russian and Spanish through various competitive events. Students can participate in two competitive events in five different categories: drama, music, folk dance, poetry and poster presentations.  When not in competition, students are invited to visit foreign language conversation tables, take language mini-lessons and international folk dancing lessons, and visit with various campus entities about UNL programs and opportunities.A Language Fair such as UNL's gives high school students, like our students at Palmyra, an opportunity to demonstrate not only their acquisition of a foreign language, but also the culture.

The following are those students that attended, as well as their placement.  These students took it upon themselves to work on their rejects and performances on their own d outside of the school day.  What deeded action.  Projects and performances are graded with three possible outcomes.  Blue is a "Superior" rating, red is an "Excellent" rating, and white is "Good".   The following is our results.
