Frist Grade Space Night
First Grade space night was out of this world! First graders and their families came Friday, March 23, 2018 to explore planets and constellations that students created and that were on display. There were many activities to engage the mind and extend the lessons taught in the classroom.
Activities included creating an edible model of the sun with sugar cookies, sprinkles and pull apart licorice; constructing constellations with marshmallows and toothpicks; coloring and putting together a paper model of the solar system; making a galaxy globe with hair gel and glow in the dark moon and star cutouts; making constellation scopes with Pringle cans. Students and their families also explored space apps on the iPad, played a couple of space games on the Clear Touch Interactive panels and read lots of books about space.
It was a night worthy of the stars!
