Ms. Engelhardt
Me
I grew up in Kenesaw, NE, a small farming community. I have one older brother. My mother is a 7-12 English teacher in Kenesaw and my father is a relator/broker. In high school I was very involved in athletics. I participated in volleyball, basketball, and track. I was also involved in the school play and student council. After graduating, I attended Hastings College where I obtained my degree in K-6 Elementary and K-12 Special Education. I taught Special Education for the last two years in Elwood, NE and am now here in Bennet.
Given the opportunity I would prefer being outside and staying active. I enjoy playing sports, playing cards, hiking, camping, fishing, bike riding; anything that gets me out of the house. I love animals. I just recently adopted a dog from the Humane Society. His name is Rawley and he is growing fast.
School
I am very excited to be a part of District OR-1. I am very much looking forward to working with the teachers, parents, and students in order to provide students with rewarding educational opportunities.
I truly believe that ALL STUDENTS CAN LEARN. It is my goal as a special education teacher to get to know my students, get to know how each one learns best, and to provide students with opportunities to be successful.
Being very involved in sports and coaching I am very big on TEAM efforts. I believe the only way we can provide students with the best opportunities is to work together. I am very flexible and willing to try new things. I believe parents can provide vital input into their child’s education. I welcome open communication between home and school. I truly believe in the old saying "It takes a whole community to raise a child." It is indeed a team effort. I am looking forward to meeting and getting to know all of you. Let’s have a great school year!
