About Me

I am in my seventh year as the instrumental music instructor at District OR1 – Bennet Elementary and Palmyra Jr. and Sr. High Schools. My teaching assignment includes; 5th Grade Band, 6th Grade Band, Junior High Band (grades 7-8) and High School Band (grades 9-12), Jazz Band, Drum Line and Marching Band. I have taught Music Theory through a distance-learning classroom. Prior to coming to Palmyra, I taught in Adams at Freeman Public Schools for four years.

I am a 1990 high school graduate of Papillion/LaVista Sr. High. I started my first year of college at Hastings College and then transferred to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I received my Bachelor of Music (B.M.) degree in 1995 with emphasis in flute performance and earned my Teacher Certification in 1998 both from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. I have done postgraduate work at University of Nebraska-Lincoln, University Nebraska-Kearney, and Vandercook College. I am a member of these professional organizations:  NMEA, NSBA, MENC, NMEA, and LMTA.
