I am Matt McElfresh. I grew up in Sutton Nebraska and graduated from Sutton Public in 2007. I knew that I wanted to become a teacher when I worked at a before and after school program at the YMCA. I enjoyed working with students of all ages and knew that education would be a great path for my future. Because of this experience, I switched my major from fisheries and wildlife to elementary education when I was a senior at UNL. It was quite the jump between majors but I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as an educator. I graduated from UNL with a degree in elementary education in December of 2012. I am starting my third year as a 6th grade teacher here at Bennet Elementary. I will be coaching Jr. High football, Jr. High boys basketball, and Jr. High track again this year. During this last summer I spent a lot of time golfing, fishing, reading and working for Syngenta. Now that summer is over, I'm excited to meet my new class and get this year underway!
