Bits and Pieces

by Karen Stoner

Since I live in the neighborhood most of you know a little bit about me.  Here are a few highlights for those who don't.  My husband Rick works for BNSF and graduated from PHS.  I grew up 3 miles north of Palmyra and graduated from Waverly.  We moved back to Palmyra when Nicole was in kindergarten, and she will be a member of the class of 2003.  Our 2 other both reside in Lincoln.  Julana works for the Journal Star and her husband Kane is employed by Dobson.  Eric is a computer programmer at Ameritas in Lincoln.  Missing from the picture is our rat terrier K. C.

My original degree was in Physical Education K-12.  After teaching for 6 years, I decided to stay home to raise a family. Through  substituting I eased back into teaching, and then was offered a job in special education at PHS.  I currently teach Special Education Life Skills students and help out in various classrooms.  The last two years have found me in graduate school with one more year left to obtain a degree in Special Education. During the fall I coach the High School Volleyball Team.  Upon completion of my degree I will have time to read, do yard work and enjoy time with my children.
