Ron Wergin’s Biography

Hello, my name is Ron Wergin.  I started teaching at District OR1 in August of 1979 and continue to pursue my career here today.  I am the Physical Education teacher at both Bennet Elementary and Palmyra High School. I spend my morning with the elementary students and afternoons with high school students. I finish my day with coaching duties after school. In the summer, I teach a Driver Education Class at Palmyra High School.

I grew up in Milford, Nebraska and graduated from Milford High School.  I attended Kearney State College in Kearney, Nebraska and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Education.

I am married, my wife’s name is Tami.  Tami is a Nurse at a hospital in Lincoln.  We have a daughter and a son, Ashley and Drew.  Both Ashley and Drew have graduated High School and College and are employed in Lincoln.

I enjoy watching movies, traveling, fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling, going to Husker football and basketball games, and watching college and professional sporting events on television in my spare time.

As an educator, I strive to be an instrumental part of the learning process and success of my students, while providing a safe and structured learning environment.
