We had a great first week of school for our K-12 students and are excited to welcome our preschool students tomorrow morning!
The start of a new school year brings a lot of excitement, but it can also come with some nerves as students adjust to new classrooms, teachers, routines, friendships, and expectations. As everyone gets back into the swing of things, families can play an important role in helping children feel confident and ready for the year ahead.
Simple things like establishing consistent routines, keeping conversations about school positive, celebrating effort and progress, and reminding children that mistakes are part of learning can make a big difference.
Check out the tips below for some age-appropriate ways to help your child build confidence and start the school year strong.

School Picture Day is just ONE MONTH AWAY! 🎉
That means you've got about 30 days to:
✔️ Schedule that haircut (but not too close to picture day 😉)
✔️ Resist the sudden urge to try bangs...this is NOT the time 🤭
✔️ Begin the annual negotiations over what they're wearing...and employ whatever level of reverse psychology is necessary
✔️ Practice smiling so they don't look like they're being held hostage
✔️ Cross your fingers they don't wake up with a mystery bruise, a missing tooth or bedhead that defies gravity
No pressure though....these are only the photos Grandma will proudly display for the next year (or decade)
We can't wait to see all of our Panthers looking their best! 📸 💙 🐾

Today District OR-1 students started a new tradition! Every Friday students from the high school will greet our littlest Panthers at the elementary! It wasn’t that long ago that these high school football players were walking through Bennet’s doors wearing backpacks the same size as them. 🤣 What a full circle moment! 🥹

Back To School Forms are now DIGITAL through PowerSchool! 📱💻
That means you can complete them:
🚗 While you're waiting in the car wash
☕️ In your pajamas with your morning coffee
🏈 During your kid's football practice
⏰ Or anytime you have a few spare minutes!
Parents will need to complete all back to school student forms online through PowerSchool this year. Simply log into PowerSchool, select Forms on the left hand side, and complete the required forms for each child.
New PowerSchool users were mailed login information in July. If you need assistance accessing your account, please contact your school office.

Bennet Elementary school counselor Austin Lahmon received the prestigious ASCA-Certified School Counselor (ACSC®) credential through the American School Counselor Association-becoming the first school counselor in Nebraska to earn this national certification!
This is an incredible professional accomplishment, but for anyone who knows Mr. Lahmon, this certification simply reflects what our students and families already experience every day! He is a trusted adult, a listening ear, and one of our students' biggest champions! He goes above and beyond to make sure every child feels seen, valued, and supported.

Superintendent Hart challenged us to embrace a mindset of evolution and innovation-to never stop asking how we can better serve our students. Education is constantly changing, and so are we! 💪🏻 We reviewed the district's strategic plan and how we will implement certain aspects this year. We received a refresher on medical training and we even discussed what AI will look like for students.

This summer's girls wrestling camp was more than just learning new moves and sharpening their skills-it was about building confidence, supporting one another, and reminding every athlete that she belongs and is capable of amazing things!
A big thank you goes out to Coach Mario Flores, Kendra Ryan and Sabrina Nauss with MI Revolution Training Center for investing their time, energy and passion into empowering these young athletes. Nebraska native Mario Flores is the founder of Michigan Revolution Wrestling Club and serves as the Michigan USA Wrestling Women's Director. Under his leadership, Michigan has become a national force in girls wrestling, with his athletes earning numerous Fargo All-American honors and national recognition. Kendra Ryan is a four year collegiate All-American who was ranked 3rd during the 2025-2026 year for Team USA. Sabrina Nauss is four-time Fargo National champion, going undefeated all four years while being ranked #1 nationally.
We can't wait to see these Panthers his the mat this winter! 🐾

What an incredible week at the Aspire Academy Summer Program!
Our students spent last week building valuable workplace and life skills by learning about employer expectations, practicing table service as waiters, waitresses, and bussers, and creating positive personal profiles to showcase their strengths.
We wrapped up the week with two amazing community-based learning experiences—working in a retail store and volunteering at Sandhills Global Event Center, where students helped fill contestant buckets for the upcoming National High School Finals Rodeo.
We are so proud of their hard work, positive attitudes, and willingness to learn. Thank you to our community partners for providing these meaningful opportunities!
