Hello Panther Families!
This is Michael Hart, District OR-1 Superintendent. I hope you and your family had a wonderful summer break! I’m calling today with some exciting updates as we prepare to kick off another fantastic school year!
Start of School:
-
Monday, August 11th, is the first day of school for all students in grades K-12, and preschool begins on Tuesday, August 12th.
-
Our staff has been working extremely hard to prepare for a fun and engaging school year, filled with high levels of learning and a wide variety of activity opportunities for all students.

Fall activities and athletics also officially begin this Monday, August 11th.
Student Transportation:
-
A letter was sent out earlier this summer regarding some upcoming student transportation service changes.

If you have not already done so and your family needs student transportation this year, please contact Cathy Fick as soon as possible.

Open House:
-
Also, just a quick reminder that Bennet and PHS will host Open Houses tonight (Thursday, August 7th) at both buildings.

Bennet Elementary will have its Open House from 4:30 - 6:30 p.m., and the high school will host its Open House event from 5-7 p.m.

The high school will also host a fall sports parent meeting tonight beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the west gym.

Open House is a special time to meet teachers, visit classrooms, and get ready for a smooth first day. We hope to see all of you tonight!

Student Chromebooks:
-
Chromebooks for students are available for student pick-up from 2-4 p.m. today and during the high school Open House tonight.
School Communication:

We will do our best to communicate school information in the most effective manner possible. Please continue to visit our school website and social media channels or call our school offices if you have any additional questions. We’re here to help make sure your child has everything they need to start the year off right.
