Safety Communication from Superintendent Hart
Hello Panther Families:
This is Michael Hart, Superintendent with District OR-1 Public Schools, calling with an update for our families.
I want to take a moment to personally address a recent concern that has been circulating in our schools. Recently, a rumor has spread regarding a possible student threat at the high school. After an immediate and thorough investigation, our school administrative team (in collaboration with local law enforcement officials) determined that this concern was only a rumor and there is no credible threat.
In summary, I encourage our families to talk with their students about the importance of responsible communication and safety, especially in today’s fast-moving digital world, where misinformation can spread quickly.
On our end, we will continue to reiterate to our students that if they feel unsafe or have a concern involving the potential for violence or harm to others, they should immediately report that concern to a trusted adult. Working together, we can continue to strengthen a safe and supportive learning environment for all students.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out at your convenience.
Thank you for your continued support of our school district.
Have a great rest of your day and Go Panthers!
Michael T. Hart
